The good news is we got the word our school is switching to a nine month school for the next school year. The bad news is the governor of Nevada wants to cut our pay 6%, give us more students, eliminate step increases (being paid more for being there each year) and salary advancement (getting paid more for getting a masters and/or credits). We'll see what actually happens. If you are curious as to the state of education in Nevada, here it is.
Nevada ranked 50 out of 51. Only DC was worst. So out of actual states, Nevada is the worst. "States are graded on students' chances to be employed after their public education, test scores, the state's testing methodology, the way teachers are evaluated, paid and trained, and how much is spent on education."
